In 2009, Gov. David Patterson issued Executive Order No. 24 setting a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in New York State by 80 percent below the levels emitted in 1990 by the year 2050. ( 80 x 50 ). Mr. Nadibaidze, will present what New York City is doing to achieve 80 x 50 and how the plan will affect buildings and real estate.   

This session offers Sustainability Community members an opportunity to learn more about the major recommendations, measures and potential regulations relating to real estate and buildings, and to provide the Mayor's office with focused, real-time feedback. Among the measures under consideration are: building energy efficiency and code changes; clean electricity generation and distributed generation, behavioral changes, financial solutions and valuation approaches, education, and others. Join the Sustainability Community to be a part of this important conversation.
