Featuring Levan Nadibaidze, Policy Advisor for the Mayor’s Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability.
Mr. Nadibaidze, will give a presentation of findings and recommendations related to buildings and the real estate market in NYC in accordance with New York’s 80x50 initiative. The 80x50 initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent from 1990 levels, by the year 2050 ("80 by 50"), and improve resilience to climate change in all the state's communities.
This session will offer the opportunity to learn about major recommendations, measures and potential regulations relating to real estate and buildings, and also to provide the Mayor's office focused, real-time feedback. Among the measures under consideration are: building energy efficiency and code changes; clean electricity generation and distributed generation, behavioral changes, financial solutions and valuation approaches, education, and others.
