Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. Their goal is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympics-style sports for children and adults, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
The committee is looking for 10 volunteers to assist the athletes with the skills practice. We will be paired individually with an athlete. Volunteers are welcome to bring others to participate, please mention this in your RSVP. No experience is necessary, just a positive attitude and loads of encouragement! Please also be prepared in appropriate clothing and footwear.
