Community Outreach: Special Olympics Bowling Volunteer Opportunity

When:  Oct 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  New York City

Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. Their goal is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympics-style sports for children and adults, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The committee is looking for 10 volunteers to assist the athletes with the bowling practice. You will be paired individually with an athlete and are welcome to bring others to participate; please mention this and your t-shirt size (if you have not already received one) in your RSVP. There is no experience necessary, just a positive attitude and loads of encouragement! Please also be prepared in appropriate clothing and footwear. Please note, CoreNet will also be present at the 10/27 & 11/10 practices, as well as the season-ending 11/24 Bowlathon. *This event is open to all members.*
