Chapter Leadership



Dale F. Schlather (Chairman)

Dale joined Cushman Realty Corporation, which merged with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. in 2001, in 1986 as National Director of Financial Services, directing financial services support to the firm’s brokerage, consulting, investment and development divisions. After five years in Cushman Realty’s headquarters in Los Angeles, Dale founded the San Diego office of the company in 1991 where he was a Senior Broker. In 1994, he relocated to the New York City office of Cushman Realty where he was Senior Managing Director. Following the 2001 merger, Mr. Schlather joined the midtown office of Cushman & Wakefield as Senior Director, and in 2005 was promoted to Executive Director.

During his 19-year career, he has been responsible for the financial structuring, analysis and negotiation of major corporate and institutional relocations, development opportunities and joint venture partnerships. He has played an integral role in the structuring, analysis, and implementation of over ten million square feet of lease transactions in over thirty cities across the United States as a tenant representation broker.




Kathy Winkler (President)

Kathy is a Vice President of Corporate Real Estate at Prudential Financial. Kathy has more than 25 years of experience within the corporate real estate and facilities management industry. This experience encompasses interior design and space planning, project management and real estate strategy.

Kathy’s current responsibilities include overall management of Insurance Division’s space at Prudential Financial of over 3 million square feet and $50 million in annual rent. She coordinates all real estate activities including strategic planning, project implementation and space utilization reporting.

In addition to her Insurance Client Partner role, Kathy also coordinates continuous process improvements and efficiency gains within the current CRE structure at Prudential Financial and aligns them with CRE objectives. She reviews and streamlines current standards, policies, procedures and other centralized real estate activities and coordinates CRE processes to be more responsive to Business Units’ needs.

Prior to joining Prudential Financial, Kathy was a manager with Columbia Pictures facilities management group and a space planning coordinator at NBC. She has a BFA in Interior Design from New York Institute of Technology.

Kathy serves on the board of directors of the New York Chapter of CoreNet Global and is a committee chair of the Education Workshops as well as a member of Corenet Global Chapter Learning Advisory committee. Kathy is very active in the industry, participating as a presenter on various CoreNet events, a panelist addressing members of the RICS association as well as a panelist at the Emerging Leaders Town Hall and a main stage presenter at the International ARCHIBUS/FM Users’ Conference.



Jennifer Marko (Vice President)

Chair.Public Relations & Marketing Committee

Jennifer has worked in the Architectural Design Industry in many roles over the last 20 years including Designer, Director, Principal and Vice President. She launched her career working as the project designer for the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo and since then has worked for several national and international firms in San Francisco and New York. She joined the AIG Realty and Facilities team in 2005 as the Director of Planning and Design Services for the United States and Canada. With this charge she is responsible for leading a team of design professionals in implementing creative solutions for approximately 20 million square feet as well as providing direction in the establishment of national corporate workplace standards. She is also responsible for the strategic real estate planning group overseeing five (5) million square feet in NYC and NJ.

Jennifer has contributed to the New York City Chapter efforts by working on the Eastern Regional Symposium, the NYC Annual Dinner Committee, the Chair of the E-News Committee and as a Board Member for the last four terms.

Marcus Rayner (Secretary)

Marcus is the Managing Principal of CresaPartners New York office, and a fomer member of the firm's Board of Directors. Marcus has over 20 years experience providing corporate real estate advice to clients in the US and specializes in strategic planning and transaction services. Marcus qualified as a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in the UK and has transacted business inEurope and Asia.

CresaPartners is an international corporate real estate advisory firm that exclusively represents tenants and delivers fully integrated real estate services in 35 countries and more than 125 cities.   

Marcus is a former co-chair of the Board of Managers for the Westside YMCA.

Joe is a Managing Principal in Gensler’s New York office, a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, and actively serves on the Board Executive and Communications Committees. Gensler is a leading global architecture, design, planning, and strategic consulting firm that partners with companies to achieve measurable business and organizational goals through the use of design. Joe’s oversight responsibilities for the Northeast region include providing leadership to studio directors in four regional offices to build client relationships, evolve projects into accounts and initiate business development and networking strategies. His work on process innovation supports Gensler’s efforts to more effectively deliver projects for the firm’s clients. A registered architect carrying licenses in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Louisiana, and Alabama, Joe is a member of the Special Events Committee for Association for the Help of Retarded Children and Event Chair for Capuchin Food Pantries’ annual fundraiser.



Lou Nowikas (Education)

Chair, Education Committee

Lou is the Director of Real Estate Operations at Hearst Corporation where he is responsible for overall operations of the Hearst New York Real Estate portfolio, including but not limited to Property & Facilities Management, Design & Construction, and Food, Fitness, & Wellness Services.

Lou joined Hearst in 2004 to manage the design and construction of the Hearst Tower. Prior to Hearst, Lou worked for Goldman Sachs as part of the Jersey City design and construction team. Prior to that he was a Project Manager with CUH2A Architects, Engineers, and Planners in Princeton, NJ, and spent the previous 7 years managing facility related projects at Warner-Lambert Company (now Pfizer) in their Consumer Products R&D Division.

Lou holds an MS in Engineering Management from The New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.





Hussain Ali-Khan (Membership Services)

Hussain is the President of the Longacre Group LLC, a corporate real estate consulting firm. Prior to forming Longacre, Hussain was a Senior Director at Tishman Speyer where he was a development manager with The India Fund. In this capacity he was part of the corporate outreach, leasing and development teams for the funded projects in India. Prior to joining Tishman Speyer Hussain was the Vice President, Real Estate Development for The New York Times Company where he developed the company’s new headquarters in Manhattan. The New York Times Building designed by the Pritzker Prize winning architect Renzo Piano includes many advanced green technologies including a double skin curtain wall, under floor air, automated shades, dimming fluorescent lighting, co-generation and demand response systems. In addition to the new headquarters Hussain oversaw all real estate activity for the Times company portfolio of 10 million sf including the development of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune headquarters in Florida, a Business week/Architectural Record Special Citation Recipient in 2006. Prior to joining the Times in 1997 Hussain held increasing senior roles in finance, consulting and manufacturing. He also served from 1984 to 1989 as an infantry officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Longacre Group LLC assists corporate clients with developing, communicating and executing their corporate real estate strategies. Longacre is also engaged in the development of alternative energy plants to assist in business and utilities achieve their clean energy goals.

Hussain has been a member of CoreNet Global since 2000 and chairperson of the Membership Committee since July 2009.





Lucy Carter (Special Events)

Lucy Carter is Director of Marketing & Business Development for Ted Moudis Associates, a leading Architecture and Interior Design Firm with a national and international presence designing corporate and retail interiors. Lucy has over 18 years of experience in marketing, business development and corporate communications. At Ted Moudis Associates, Lucy oversees the marketing department, introduces and maintains client relationships and actively participates in industry related organizations and events. She helps to expand the firm’s overall presence and expertise, highlighting its leadership in Workplace strategies and Sustainable design, while upholding its 20 year commitment to providing superior custom-driven design services.

Lucy’s professional history includes business development and marketing for firms such as Morgan Stanley, Polo Ralph Lauren and CMP Media allowing her to address today’s changing and complex business environments. This knowledge along with her professional background and highly successful track record brings strength to both the marketing and strategic efforts of the firm as a whole.

Lucy has joined the Board of Directors of the NYC Chapter of CoreNet Global as Special Events Chair. Over the years, she has been involved with CoreNet’s Communication and Membership committees and remains active with several other industry associations and charitable affiliations. She is on the Board of Directors for both AREW and The AREW Charitable Fund as Communications Co-Chair, involved with NYCREW as Membership Chair, IFMA, SHARE and Special Olympics New York. Lucy is also involved with the Capuchin Food Pantries charity.




Gina Rizzo (Advisor)

Gina is Global Real Estate Manager for Herman Miller and has over 20 years of experience in the contract furniture industry. Gina is responsible for the marketing and new business efforts within the real estate community and concentrates on building and maintaining relationships very early in the process with top decision makers. To assure a strong partnership between Herman Miller and the client, Ms. Rizzo teams with Herman Miller’s global resources to bring an effective and long-term solution for the corporate environment.

With over 10 years of experience with IDRC and CoreNet Global, Gina has strengthened Herman Miller’s visibility within the organization. Beginning as a board member to Chapter VP, Chapter President and current position as Chapter Chair, Gina is determined in her role as a leader that the Chapter will continue their legacy as the global innovators.

For 2008 Herman Miller is listed on FORTUNE’S “100 Best Companies to Work For” and received special recognition as one of only three companies identified as having the “Coolest Corporate Headquarters”.



Howard E. Peskoe (Legal Counsel)

Howard is a Counsel at Herrick, Feinstein LLP's Real Estate Department.  Prior to joining this firm, Howard was a partner in Clifford Chance and Winston & Strawn LLP’s.

Howard has in-depth experience in representing clients in connection with the acquisition, development and financing of many significant office buildings in Manhattan, as well as regional office, hotel and multi-use properties. He represents lenders, borrowers, owners and contractors.

In addition to serving as CoreNet Global New York City Chapter’s legal counsel, he is a member of the advisory board of First American Title Insurance Company and of the board of directors of Greater Jamaica Development Corporation where he chairs the Project Development and Finance Committee.



Paul Darrah (Advisor)

Paul is Director of Corporate Services at Bridgewater Associates.  Prior to Bridgewater, Paul was a Director of Real Estate for the Americas at Lehman Brothers. In this capacity he was responsible for Strategic Planning, Leasing and Transactions, Design and Construction and Property Management for New York, New Jersey and Branches portfolio of over 6 million square feet. Prior to joining Lehman he served as Director of Global Real Estate with Bloomberg for 10 years and was responsible for managing real estate for the over 120 offices around the world; including strategic planning, site selection, design and construction of Bloomberg offices. Prior to Bloomberg, he was President of WPG Design Group. He and his firm were responsible for the design and continued expansion of Bloomberg’s New York Headquarters office as well as design services and project coordination for additional offices including San Francisco, Sao Paulo Brazil and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Bloomberg’s rapid worldwide growth necessitated creating a senior internal position with expertise and responsibility to plan and manage real estate and facilities efforts. Paul is responsible for managing over 120 worldwide offices including strategic real estate planning, site selection, design and construction.

Prior to WPG he worked with Brennan Beer Gorman Architects in New York where he was responsible for developing the Washington, D.C. office of Brennan Beer Gorman Monk Interiors as well as a range of office building and hospitality projects.

In addition to his CoreNet board position, Paul is a member of the Trenton Economic Development Corporation, East Manhattan BID, Architectural Institute of America and Architectural League of New York.



Suzanne Heidelberger (Advisor)

Suzanne is the Director of Real Estate for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is the largest US-based law firm, with more than 1,800 attorneys. The firm is best known for its mergers and acquisitions work, but represents corporate clients in a wide variety of other practice areas, including intellectual property, litigation, restructuring, and white-collar criminal defense. The Firm was founded in 1948.

As Director of Real Estate, Suzanne is responsible for strategic planning, lease negotiation and construction project management for the international corporate portfolio of approximately 2.5 million square feet in more than 20 locations. In her role, she works with real estate brokers, construction companies, project managers, architects, furniture suppliers, economic development organizations, landlords, developers and other consultants around the world.

Prior to joining Skadden, Suzanne was a Vice President at JP Morgan in the Corporate Real Estate Finance, Strategy & Transactions Group. Her role there included acquisition, disposition, leasing and tenant management for a global real estate portfolio as well as location strategy development for domestic and international business units.

Suzanne's real estate background also includes stints at Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Ernst & Young LLP. She graduated from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration.

Suzanne was elected to the CoreNet Global Board of Directors in 2007. She chairs the CoreNet Global Chapter Learning Advisory Committee and is the immediate past chair of the New York City chapter. She serves on the MIPIM International Real Estate Awards Jury and the Editorial Advisory Board for Real Estate New York. She has professional affiliations with the Association of Real Estate Women, the Cornell Real Estate Council, and the Cornell Hotel Society.



Jeffrey Elie (Advisor)

Jeff is Vice President of Global Real Estate and Facilities for Kaplan, Inc., a Washington Post Company. In this position, Jeff is responsible for the corporate services infrastructure at Kaplan, Inc. and its over 500 locations. Prior to joining Kaplan, he served as Director of Real Estate at the McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. for thirteen years and was an Assistant Vice President for Citibank, N.A. for seven years.

Jeff is on the Board of Directors of CoreNet Global and holds the position of Chairman. In 1994 he co-founded the New York City Chapter’s annual charity golf and tennis outing which has donated over $500,000 to NYC-based children’s charities. He has also served as President of the Farmingdale unit of the Police Activity League of Nassau County, New York, and is currently a trustee for the Youth Council of the Farmingdale School District.
